Randomly committing to a person or someone's wish is the new trend around the globe. We normally hear our relatives, friends and co-workers using the word 'commit' or 'my word'. Youth today speaks, "It'll be done. I give you my word." Do we really understand the true and a deeper meaning to this word?
Everyone today commits to almost everything that they come across during the day. Most of us don't even remember half the commitments we gave during the day, be it in person or a phone call or an email. The ones who tend to fulfill all the promised commitments are the happy people. We have to understand the when ever we commit to someone or something there's a bond of trust which develops between the two. A feeling that is tough to acquire and easy to loose. The person committed to builds a hope that it'll be fulfilled because we have given our so-called word. But when the commitment is not fulfilled that small trust between the two is shattered. We don't understand that a shattered trust is possible to get back but with cracks in it.
We come across two types of people in the world,
1. Who takes time out
2. Who does not want to take time out
Every living organism has been allotted 24 hours in a day by a god. Whenever you give commitment, you know that you have 24 hours and it's in these 24 hours that you will have to fulfill it. There are only 2 ways to be happy when it comes to fulfilling 'your word',
1. Either you do not commit if you have a doubt that you won't be able to fulfill in that specific time.
2. Know your priorities before giving a commitment.
I have a huge social circle and I pass through the same anxiety of fulfilling the commitment. I too join the section which commits normally to everyone and everything that comes across in a day. I just cannot say NO. It's a weakness when it comes to fulfilling commitments coz' I tend to commit to more people & things than I can manage. Over the past few months I have started prioritizing my day in the most discreet manner. When I prioritize, I know how to take time out for the commitments I have given.
I have started understanding the importance of fulfilling the commitments and I have started working on it. I am sorry to all those friends and things where I have not been able to fulfill my commitment. I cannot make it up for it. But, I promise myself today;
'I'll only commit if I have the time to fulfill it or if I can set the commitment given in my prioritized schedule.'
I urge every reader of my blog to make the same promise to yourself and see the change in your life.
Love to all.
